A look into the mind of an 8 year old

For my little cousin's 8th birthday, I told him that I'd show him how to mod one of his Nerf guns in the workshop. I even let him choose the paintjob, it's interesting how it turned out...

Specs:

• Black/Grey/Silver "trashcan"-camouflage pattern paintjob
• ARs removed/turret sealed
• OMW 2x spring replacement
• Clutch mod

It's not exactly what I'd choose to paint a gun, but he likes it and it's on par with all of my other modded Mav's (including the TBM).

Borderlands 2 - Jakobs Gun Maverick

Here we have part of a recent order that is really turning heads, a Maverick painted up in the theme of a Jakobs Gun from Borderlands 2. It came to us with a full suite of mods, including AR removal, penny mod and Russian Roulette mod. We added a weathered metal and woodgrain paintjob, and now this thing looks truly amazing. Also, thank you to all the redditors who commented on the woodgrain work, I'll try to get a tutorial up next time I work with woodgrain.

Also, the final detailing is the silver faux bolts, not seen in all photos.

JSI Goes "Steampunk" (lol as if)

Recently was asked if we could do a Steampunk (just metallic, not really stemapunk) themed Maverick for a heavy repeat customer - we said "Why not?" The gun speaks for itself. Metallic paint is a little more expensive than most other colors, but it does look good. Not really a true "Steampunk" in any way, but the customer got exactly what he wanted.

Specs:

• Silver/Copper lightly weathered paintjob
• Logos all sanded off (you'd never know they were ever there)
• Great new clear coat
• AR removal & cylinder wells joined into solid barrels
• Russian Roulette mod (works well)

Just a quick PSA to all our readers out there who were considering buying a spacer/connector set for the Triple Barrel Maverick Mod: WE HAVE 2 MORE NO SETS OF SURPLUS SPACERS LEFT.

Yes, you heard that correctly, the order I had cut this summer is almost sold out, I have 2 no more sets of spacers left to sell off, and 3 more sets I'm holding onto to for TBM commissions. I won't be making another order until December at the earliest, especially if the Maverick is being phased out for the Strongarm (them we'll invent a Triple Barrel Strongarm Mod, lol).

Triple Barrel Maverick: The Pepper Box v2 + Commissions/Spacers FOR SALE

Here's the (long-awaited) assembled and working Triple Barrel Maverick. I'm naming it "The Pepper Box." It's a take on a three-barrel pistol from the late 1800s. As you can see a few changes from the WIP post that was posted a few weeks back, I have added the new acrylic laser-cut spacers as well as some new reinforcements and a new axis of rotation system. It actually works quite well.

• Posts removed (I would not recommend unless the ARs are removed AND dead space is removed)

Well, my laser-cut acrylic spacers finally came in for the TBM that I've been working on. The original plywood spacers that I had made didn't quite cut it. So here is my nice new stack of spacer sets.

The Pepper-Box: Triple Barrel Maverick WIP

Well one gun that caught my eye not too long ago was a maverick with 3 barrels. I thought that it looked legit, so I went out and bought a few mavs and started in on it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it proved to have a few tough workarounds I wasn't counting on.

The name is my take on a Civil War era pistol that featured 3 barrels that rotated on a central axis. I found the name fitting enough.

Specs:

• 3 barrels, 6 shots each, total of 18 shots
• Basic AR/post removal
• Plunger dead space eliminated
• AR dead space eliminated
• OMW 6kg spring (tba)
• Classic Black/Silver paintjob (tba)
